Fiesta Days in Spanish Fork

The best time of the year is starting next week and we couldn’t be more thrilled. If you are local to Spanish Fork or any of the surrounding towns then you know what I’m talking about; Fiesta Days! It’s a five day celebration of Spanish Fork, there’s a carnival, all different kinds of food, one of the best rodeos in the state and so much more. If you live anywhere in Utah it’s definitely worth the trip. Starting on the 19th and ending on the 24th, there’s activities and fun things to do for the entire family. One of the things you can’t miss out on is our 77th annual rodeo, like I mentioned it’s one of the best in the state. You might be a city slicker, but you have to go at least one night to enjoy the talent. We are lucky enough to have our rodeo be a Gold Member on the Million Dollar Tour of Professional Rodeo. The contestants are world champions from all over and compete every morning to decide who gets to move on to the evening’s performance.

This year we have been chosen to host the first-ever PRCA Xtreme Bulls bull-riding event in the state of Utah. It’s on Saturday July 20th, it’s a night of all the top bull riders and some of the wildest bulls the world has to offer. To make the whole experience even better our fairgrounds recently got a huge remodel with new seats, better concessions and all around a better experience. Since the Spanish Fork rodeo is such a big deal you don’t want to wait any longer to get your tickets!

Since the rodeo doesn’t start until 8:00 P.M. (7:00 for pre-show) fill your time by hitting up the carnival. It’s full of all different rides for the entire family, including a new ride this year ‘Freak Out.’ This ride is definitely for those thrill seekers, as the claw begins to rotate the pendulum swings back and forth. But don’t worry, there’s still classics like a carousel and Ferris Wheel. As well as other activities and games for smaller children and those that don’t love the thrill rides. Everyday excluding Saturday the carnival opens at 4:00 P.M and on Saturday it opens at 10:00 A.M for a full day of carnival fun.

All of these days there are sidewalk sales happening full of different foods, toys and clothing vendors and that’s just the start of them. Even if you just come down for a little dinner and shopping, you won’t be disappointed with what you leave with!

Now the 24th is the biggest and best day in Spanish Fork. It starts early with a Speedy Spaniard run 10K road race at 6:30, followed by a Speedy Spaniard one mile run at 7:30. Wake up and get your body moving, enjoy running through the Spanish Fork River Trail. After the races for those fitness enthusiasts there’s food vendors in the park before the parade starts at 9:00 A.M. The Fiesta Days Grand Parade is a family tradition as well as a long-time favorite of the residents of Spanish Fork. After the parade ends there’s still fun happening down at the park, there’s a pool party, Adopt-A-Duck and so much more fun to be had.

We like to send this week off with a bang, literally. From 8:00-10:00 P.M. we have Utah’s own Charley Jenkins performing with his band. Down at the Sports Park he’ll be playing, there will be concessions and everyone loves to bring their favorite yard games and just hang out before the fireworks. Starting at approximately 10:30 we have a beautiful firework show that you won’t want to miss.
