Littmann Classic II SE, the classic among stethoscopes The Littmann Classic II SE is a traditional single-tubed stethoscope. The solid yet light stainless steel chestpiece has a bell and an adjustable diaphragm. This makes it possible to hear low-frequency sounds by exerting slight pressure on the skin, while high-frequency sounds are audible when more pressure is exerted. Other features include patient-friendly non-chill rims and diaphragms. Thanks to the soft eartips, auscultation is now a routine and comfortable part of the physical examination. Our experiences The Littmann Classic II SE is a single-tubed stethoscope with an adjustable diaphragm. Littmann itself has given it a mark of 7 out of 10. Stethoscopes with an inner tube with a double internal lumen (such as the Littmann Cardiology III or the Schweitzer Cardio III) generally produce better acoustic performances. These alternatives also have a paediatric diaphragm, which means they can be for a wider range of functions.
